The song, "I Am a Child of God" ran through my head over and over today as I attended the blessing of little Zackary David Sharp. It was such a beautiful occasion that reminded me of the love that Heavenly Father has for each of us. So many family members were gathered together to be a part of this special day for Brandt and Kelly's family. I feel so blessed that I have the best family and that it just keeps growing! The blessing brought the Spirit so strongly and it stayed with us throughout the meeting and the rest of the day as we had lunch together. I just didn't want the day to end!
To back up a little, I ended up going home this past Friday because my mom had surgery and I wanted to be able to help in any way that I could. Her surgery went well and she is having a speedy recovery...thankfully! It was a very needed low-key weekend and I loved every minute of it! On Friday we had some dinner and watched "Secretariat". Saturday, I got up early and got a few things done before Brooke and her two kiddos came over. We had the most chill Saturday morning ever! We played in the snow, did Just Dance, and enjoyed time together! We felt a little guilty when Grandma and Grandpa brought Jeff and Becky over to visit at noon and we were still in our pajamas. Oh well! After showering and lunch, I ran some errands for my mom. I am so thankful that I was able to help, even though what I did was so small! That night we babysat Zac while Brandt and Kelly went with Michael to the temple. We had him from 6:30 until 11 and he was an angel! I loved every minute I had with him! He is number 13 of my nieces and nephews and I am just amazed at how my love just increases.
This morning I was able to go up to Centerville a few hours before Sacrament Meeting to help Kelly get things ready while Brandt was at his bishopric meetings. It was so wonderful to spend time with her, Ryan, Landon, Trevor, and Zac. "Has given me an earthly home, with parents kind and dear," stood out to me as I was at their home. How thankful I am that I have amazing parents and that my nieces and nephews also have amazing parents. It is definitely evidence of God's love in my life! There are so many little things all around me that remind me of His love. My goal this week is to be more aware of them.
